I started this blog as an outlet to share my progress with anyone in the world who may be interested in reading. This is supposed to be my experiences in starting a business. Well, so far, I don’t have much experience other than waiting. My wife and I have recently taken on the daunting task of helping our family with some difficult (and time consuming) tasks. So my business dreams have taken a back seat to family for the time being. Initially I saw this as a negative thing, but God has shown me something else. I’m learning that I have a lot to learn, and I know that when my business does finally take off, it’s going to be something that I am ready for.
You may be feeling the same way. You have that idea that could change the world or make you millions, but you’re still working your 8-5 job. It’s not a dead-end job, but it’s not one of your deepest passions come to life. Let me just encourage you to keep on keeping on. God often will test us and prepare us in the simple everyday mundane things of life — just look at David from the Bible. He killed a lion and a bear in the wild before he faced Goliath. God’s ways are higher than our ways. He’s a big picture God. He sees the end from the beginning, and He always knows the best route to take to get you where you need to be.
I don’t have anything to show for my business just yet, but I know it is coming. That’s the faith God has given me for this time in my life. Plus, I’m still learning a lot about web hosting and programming. All the while, I’m watching trends in society and the internet, and I’m seeing needs I can meet with apps and websites. I believe I was created for this time period, and I have something unique to contribute. So I’m going to bring my best. I’m going to work as if I work for God, not man.
I didn’t mean for this to become a “lean-on-God” kind of message, but that’s how I live my life. If I am to create a web log (haha…I mean blog) about what I do, then it’s going to have a fair amount of God in it. That’s how I recommend to live life anyway. God created it all. There’s nothing new to Him…not even business. So why not take His advice and ask Him questions? He cares, and He makes a great business partner!
Side note: I’ve read a lot of Michael Hyatt’s blog posts, and I really like the way he does things. I particularly like his “Anatomy of a Blog Post” post, which I have failed at here. I haven’t offered enough helpful advice as much as I have gone on and on about what’s going on in MY life. Well…I’ll get better at this. Just stay tuned 🙂
